The GamingChurch Review: LIGHTKRAVTE Visual Novel

October 1, 2022 by freelancermark@yahoo.com Leave a Comment

I have to say that I never have reviewed a game like LIGHTKRAVTE, but I hesitate to call it a game. I believe that I was told that LIGHTKRAVTE is some kind of “visual novel”, which means that there is a definite emphasis on story, perhaps too much so.

Basically, this game has some pics of the protagonist, who is trying to make it in his world. There doesn’t seem to be any way you can make different choices and go through different paths. It just feels like you are reading a book with pictures.

That is not to say that the story isn’t engaging. The protagonist is a young man who is very attracted to the ladies (are we in a harem anime), and he also wants to be a painter. Unfortunately, he lives in a society that is ran by some bourgeois group, and they are the ones that chose the work of the proletariats.

Yes, the world of LIGHTKRAVTE feels very alternative and complicated. There appears to be some kind of war taking place far away, and everyone fears that it is coming. Then we have whatever problems that the protagonist is dealing with, who is trying just to live and be happy in his own world.

I actually admired LIGHTKRAVTE, and wished I had more time to review it just so I can see the end of this story. It is like a book, and reminds me that I could use more time reading.

TheGamingChurch Review: Bright Memory Infinite

October 1, 2022 by freelancermark@yahoo.com Leave a Comment

So, I have to admit, I’m not really the audience for Bright Memory: Infinite, but I can see that those who love first-person shooters will enjoy this game.

I was kind of interested in the story of this game. It begins with the main character Shelia (pronounced Shell-ee-ah, not like Sheila) who is some kind of agent for the Science Research Organization. Have you ever heard of the SRO? Me neither.

From what I can tell, Shelia is investigating this strange vortex that has appeared somewhere in the Arctic. At the beginning of the game, it looks like Shelia is going to be this character of mystery, and then she gets into this airplane and crash-lands in a land full of interesting stuff.

For me, this is one of those games that introduced me to some FPS concepts that will tire FPS fans. You know how most of these games have some kind of lame tutorial just to walk, jump, shoot, change ammo clips, and other things? Yeah, Bright Memory Infinite has all of that, and so it is up to you if you want to shoot, stab, or use combos to defeat enemies.

I’m going to be honest and say that Bright Memory: Infinite is not really for me.
